Database of Insects and their Host Plants,Common Names of Insects Databases, DB of Butterflies and moths of North America, Pherobase, INPN, EPPO Global Database, Encyclopedia of Life (EOL)Database, Integrated taxonomic information system (ITIS), Butterfly and Moth DB, etc. are few other independent databases that contain combined information regarding morphology, distribution, classification, images, ecology and taxonomic hierarchy of the diverse live forms like silkworms, plants, fungi, pests etc.

Database of Insects and their Host Plants, URL:http://www.brc.ac.uk/dbif/homepage.aspx

It was constructed by Biological Records Centre (BRC), UK, which is the main part of National Biodiversity Network (NBC). This database is supported by the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC) and the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (CEH).

Information of some of the silkworm host plants like Jatropha curcas, Manihot esculenta, Quercus, Ricinus communis, Morus alba, Morus sp., Carica papaya, etc. and the lepidopteran insects are available. The wild silkmoth Saturnia pavonia (L.) of Saturniidae family belonging to order Lepidoptera has also been enlisted in DBIF with its host plants which are Erica cinerea, Salix viminalis, Juglans regia, Morus, Betula, Potentilla palustris, Alnus glutinosa, Crataegus monogyna, Prunus spinosa, Rhamnus cathartica, Frangula alnus, Potentilla erecta, Corylus avellana, Rubus fruticosus, Erica tetralix, Ulmus procera, Sorbus aucuparia, Lythrum salicaria, Sambucus nigra, Sanguisorba officinalis, Carpinus betulus, Other woody plants, Filipendula ulmaria, Crataegus, Calluna vulgaris, Salix cinerea, Many plants, Salix, Salix caprea, Dryas octopetala, Rubus idaeus and Alnus.

Common Names of Insects Database (CNIDB), URL:http://www.entsoc.org/pubs/common_names .This database was developed by Entomological Society of America for the researchers working in entomology areas. More than 2,000 common names of the insects have been included in the DB and can be searched through options like common or scientific name, order, family, genus, species and author. The wild moths of Saturniidae family (Order Lepidoptera) including Hemileuca maia (Drury), Hyalophora euryalus (Boisduval), Hyalophora cecropia (Linnaeus), Samia cynthia (Drury), Dryocampa rubicunda (Fabricius), Citheronia regalis (Fabricius), Eacles imperialis (Drury), Actias luna (Linnaeus), Anisota senatoria (J.E. Smith), Coloradia pandora Blake, Anisota virginiensis (Drury), Antheraea polyphemus (Cramer), Callosamia promethea (Drury), Hemileuca oliviae Cockerell, Citheronia regalis (Fabricius), Anisota stigma (Fabricius) etc.

DB of Butterflies and moths of North America, URL: http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/ . The DB displays data of Lepidopteran insects such as species profile, distribution, images.

Pherobase, URL:http://www.pherobase.com/. It is a database of pheromones and semiochemicals of animals (e.g. insects like Saturniidae family moths), plants and invasive species.

INPN, URL:http://inpn.mnhn.fr. INPN is an biodiversity information resource that displays taxonomy, species status and geographical distribution data of various taxa including arthropods (e.g. Samia Cynthia).
