KAIKObase is an integrated genome database constructed and maintained by National Institute of Agrobiological Sciences (NIAS), Japan under Silkworm Genome Research Program (SGRP). The current version KAIKObase (ver.3.2.2) is equipped with data mining tools like PGMap, UnifiedMap, GBrowse, GeneViewer and 5 independent databases including Bombyx Trap Database, KAIKO 2DDB, KAIKOGAAS, full length cDNA database and EST database. It comprises of integrated genome information of B. mori such as ESTs, physical and genetic maps, BAC-end and fosmid sequences, full length cDNA, proteomic data etc. This information will be helpful in applied genomic and functional studies of lepidopteran insects (Shimomura et al. 2009).
