ButterflyBase: a platform for lepidopteran genomics

ButterflyBase is an EST data resource developed by Steffi Gebauer-Jung, Hendrik Tilger and Alexie Papanicolaou Max Planck Institute of chemical Ecology, Jena, Germany. It acts as a platform to carry out comparative genomic analysis among butterfly and lepidopteran insects. The database is searchable through similarity tools like BLAST, MS-BLAST etc. It mainly aims at helping the lepidopteran researchers in marker development, protein detection, phylogenetics etc. (Papanicolaou et al 2008)
